{NEWS ZONE} ~ Kogi Bye-Election: Alleged Ballot Box Snatcher Dies of Gunshot

An alleged ballot box snatcher has died after a pistol in his pocket triggered and killed him instantly .
Our correspondent gathered that the dead suspect was about to snatch a ballot box at the NEPA area voting unit when he was accosted.
An Eye witness said that the suspect had a shotgun in his pocket which triggered , killing him as some voters wrestled with him .
Another person said the suspect stabbed a party loyalist who tried to prevent him from snatching the ballot box which angered other party members who swooped on him and stabbed him in the neck and he died before help could reach him .
The police public relations officer , William Aya , a Deputy Superintendent of police, who confirmed the incident said that the deceased was a suspected political thug who invaded the voting center with a view to snatching the ballot box but was overpowered by the parties ’ supporters and got killed.
He however denied the knowledge of him having a shot gun in his pocket which triggered .
He also said that the corpse of the suspect had been deposited at the Federal Medical Center Mortuary, Lokoja, while an investigation is on going to arrest all those involved in the killing .

{NEWS ZONE}~ Demolition Of Ayefele’s Music House Divides Oyo Government

The demolition of N800 million Music House belonging to popular musician, Yinka Ayefele, in Ibadan has finally divided Oyo State government. While the government’s lawyer, Yomi Alliyu, denied the involvement of the state government in the demolition exercise, the Special Adviser to the Oyo State governor on Physical Planning and Development Control, Waheed Gbadamosi, admitted that it was the government that demolished Ayefele’s Fresh FM building. Barrister Alliyu told the State High Court, presided by Justice Iyabo Yerima on Monday August 20, that the state has no hand in Ayefele’s misfortune. “My clients are men of honour that respect rule of law and constituted authority and will have no reason to demolish the said property,” Alliyu told the court. The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has commended the gallantry of men of the Edo State Police Command, who foiled a robbery attack on a bank in Igarra, in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State. Obaseki expressed regret over the death of some persons while the attack lasted and prayed for the repose of their souls.
