  No fewer than 1,570 Nigerians were kidnapped between January and November 2020 in 366 reported cases, Daily Trust investigation reveals. The kidnappers raked in over N311 million from payment of ransom by relatives of their victims within this period, though they demanded over N6.9 billion from their victims. The money paid did not include millions of naira paid by some families who chose to keep quiet because of threats or simply to have their peace. Daily Trust reports that there has been an upsurge in kidnapping in Nigeria with 41 cases reported in November. Adewale Abiodun and Aliu Mubarak, two suspected hoodlums, have been nabbed by police, The PUNCH reports. The two men were arrested for being in possession of the burnt skulls of the two policemen set ablaze in Ibadan in the wake of the #EndSARS protest gave the graphic details of how they sold the skulls for N1,000 when paraded on Friday. A selfless woman, Rev. Sister Henrietta Alokha who gave her life to save her students during the deadly Abule Ado fire inferno has been buried. Residents flee as Boko Haram take over Borno communities There has been mass movement of people out of communities in Borno State through Damaturu the Yobe State capital to Bauchi, Gombe, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kebbi and Jigawa states. Two men were allegedly killed by drunk policemen in the early hours of today during new year celebration in Edo State. The incident reportedly happened at Kings square, Benin, Edo. According to an eyewitness, Alpha, the drunk policemen were also trying to celebrate by firing gunshots into the air at their station opposite the Oba market, but instead opened fire on the duo. One of the victims reportedly died immediately on the spot while the other lost his life moments later as he was not able to get appropriate first aid to keep him alive. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against taking sides in the general elections. In its New Year message yesterday, the association urged government not to involve the military in the polls, to prevent voter intimidation.
