{NEWS ZONE} ~ 300 Level Kogi Varsity Student Stabbed to Death
The main campus of the Kogi State University, Ayingba , was thrown into mourning on Wednesday with the death of a 300 level student of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies following the death of a student after he was stabbed by a fellow student .
It was gathered that he was stabbed to death by a fellow student simply called Yusuf , aka Santa cruise , who is a 100 level student of the Department of Public Administration.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that the deceased who marked his birthday on the day he was killed was said to have attempted to separate a quarrel between Yusuf , his killer , and one other student when the incident occurred.
He said the incident happened at 4pm on Wednesday in front of the school gate behind MTN office close to the deceased ’ s lodge.
The late Shariff described as easy- going and gentle was said to have had a similar misunderstanding with Yusuf , who was his co- tenant , but the issue was said to have been amicably resolved by their landlord.
Shariff, also the operator of Umbrella multimedia studio was said to have been stabbed with a broken bottle in the neck and he bled to death before help could reach him .
He was confirmed dead by a medical personnel at the Good Shepherd hospital, Ayingba .
When contacted , the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Joseph Edegbo , did not pick several calls put across to him neither did he respond to a text message sent to him .
The Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya , a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said it was true and that the suspect is currently at large .
He , however , said that the police are on the trail of the suspect, adding that he will surely be apprehended very soon and be made to face the full wrath of the law .
