A woman has taken to social media to expose a driver who allegedly stole her iPhone after her return from the United Kingdom. The woman who hails from Edo state, revealed that her friend’s driver stole her iPhone after entering his car. After trying to recover the phone all to no avail, the woman promised the alleged phone thief that she would give him N100,000 if he returns the phone to her. In the process of returning the phone, the suspect and his alleged accomplice were nabbed by the police. The iPhone 10 was already disabled as at the time of recovery as it was alleged that the suspected thief tried to open it. The suspects are currently being held at the station.  The woman who revealed that she is yet to pay fully for the iPhone which is worth about £1,250 (over N620,000) – said that the gadget was stolen just one week of her return to Nigeria after boarding the suspect’s car. According to Eze Ndigbo in South Africa, a Nigerian man identified as Mr. Donald Mordi, has been declared wanted by the South African Police for alleged murder. The suspect who hails from Ika northeast local government area of Delta state, is alleged to have killed a fellow Nigerian over cult-related matter before absconding. Meanwhile, the presidency has said that Nigerians killed in South Africa recently indicated that they were killed by fellow Nigerians, unlike the past when South Africans were killing Nigerians. The Minister of Labour and Employment , Dr Chris Ngige , has attributed the delay in the approval of a new minimum wage for Nigerian workers to the inability of the state governors to come up with an agreed figure. Ngige, who stated this at a press briefing in Obosi, in the Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State , also said there was no truth in the news that the Federal Government was planning to increase monthly allowance of corps members . While stating that the committee saddled with the responsibility to work out the modalities for the new wage had been up and about , Ngige said the Nigerian Governors ’ Forum had not been able to come up with any figure as a minimum wage they could pay . Describing the governors as critical partners in wage determination, Ngige said as an insider and a realist , he would not want to give any date or month when the minimum wage would be implemented. A journalist and publisher of Weekly Source, a local tabloid based in Bayelsa State , Mr Jones Abiri , on Tuesday, returned to Yenagoa , the state capital, and relived his ordeal in the hands of the Department for State Services. Abiri, who was received at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists by journalists and leaders of the Civil Liberties Organisation, said he was arrested in his office , detained for seven days in DSS cell in Yenagoa and later blindfolded and flown to Abuja . He said he was kept incommunicado in an underground DSS cell in Abuja and denied access to medical treatment for about two years. Abiri, who was also received by his wife and family members , said the hope that God would grant him freedom someday kept him alive throughout the period of his detention. A young girl who was kidnapped when she was 2 years old has been found four years later. Onyinyechi Okpala went missing on 30th November 2014, when she and her mother went for an end of the year party which was hosted by her uncle named “Taribo” in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. A search was conducted but the girl wasn’t found as months turned to years. Yesterday, 20th August 2018, the little girl, who is now 6, was found by the Imo state police who busted a child trafficking syndicate. A total of eleven stolen children were recovered from the suspects some of whom have been identified by their parents. The Imo State Police Command have arrested eight suspects in connection with child stealing and trafficking. Gov. Ayodele Fayose said on Tuesday said that all the ongoing capital projects will be completed and inaugurated before vacating office on Oct. 16. The News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN) reports that the governor, made the promise while speaking at 2018 edition of the Annual Udiroko Festival in Ado Ekiti, the state capital. The governor said he had resolved to complete all ongoing projects in consonance with his promise while being sworn-in for a second term in office not to abandon any project embarked upon. According to him, his critics who were allegedly saying he embarked on employment of new hands into the state public service at the tail end of his tenure should also have asked him not to continue with projects he started. A Cambodian woman has been arrested by the Police over her involvement in connection with the kidnapping and torture of a Nigerian man in the capital’s Sen Sok district. District police chief, Hour Mengvang, said Iroegbu Uche Andrew, 46, sustained injuries to his back and cheek, on Saturday, after he was confined and tortured with a hot iron by her six Nigerian accomplices. The victim managed to escape while two of the suspects were smoking and left him unattended at the house. “The Cambodian woman was the victim’s girlfriend. She invited him to the house and let the other Nigerians abduct him for ransom. They tortured him and demanded $5,000 in return for his release. We’re still investigating,” Mengvang said. While the government’s lawyer, Yomi Alliyu, denied the involvement of the state government in the demolition exercise, the Special Adviser to the Oyo State governor on Physical Planning and Development Control, Waheed Gbadamosi, admitted that it was the government that demolished Ayefele’s Fresh FM building.
